Laura Harvey is an editor, writer, bibliophile, horsewoman, historian, teacher, debate coach, nerd, DIY junkie, and occasional rescuer of kittens. She holds a BA, MA, and is ABD, making her an exceptional asset in Trivial Pursuit. She loves reading so much that all of her handbags share one crucial ability: fitting a standard paperback or Kindle. She lives in northern California with a menagerie of beasts (dogs, cats, horses, and family members).
In her own words Laura Harvey describes the sort of stories she's seeking to acquire and edit:
I love paranormal and fantasy romances. Ghosts, monsters, mythological figures, time-travelers and second-world denizens really are my bag, baby.
My favorite heroes tend to be edgy and dark; the kind of person you don’t invite home. Definitely the type your mother warned you about. You might flirt casually in broad daylight in a crowded place, but anything more serious might mean you never see daylight again.
Heroines are awesome in their own right. Whoever she is, she doesn’t need to be rescued. Or, if she does, she already has a plan (and preferably a weapon). She might never have taken a karate lesson in her life, but she has the nerve, sense, and ingenuity to tap her inner badass.
Suspicion-at-first-sight usually works better for me than immediate gooey “they’re the one” swooning.
I’m open to M/F, M/M, F/F, and menage pairings.
