What We Believe In
We believe in romance. We believe reading should be fun. We believe that at their core, romances are courtship stories, focused tightly on the emotions of the relationship. We don’t raise an eyebrow at any woman’s reading choices because we believe a woman deserves whatever fiction incites her passions. Whether a sweet fairy-tale ending or a scorching hot love affair, we believe in giving a woman what she wants. Hot romance, it's what we do.
The way we do this is by partnering with great writers to craft and edit the best romance stories possible. By creating beautiful, well designed paperbacks and ebooks. By growing their publicity. And by fostering a family of authors and editors excited to work with us.
In 2011, Eileen Wiedbrauk and Elizabeth Wagner started laying the groundwork for Red Moon. Two women combining skill sets in editing/publishing/technology and the go-get-em attitude of a NYC publicist, with the shared love of reading fiction... particularly romantic fiction featuring hot heroes. But the original content focus shifted, and in early-2012 we launched World Weaver Press, a speculative fiction publishing house. Three years later, we're inordinately proud of all we've accomplished with World Weaver Press, and we're ready to launch our first imprint: Red Moon Romance.
Red Moon focuses on romance, encompassing the spectrum from sweet to erotic romance.
Red Moon is a royalty-paying publisher. All our stories are available in both ebook and trade paperback if they are over 35,000 words, and ebook-only for those shorter works.
WWP and Red Moon seek to bridge the gap between traditional publishing and self-publishing. For more about our philosophy on where we stand in the world of publishing, see our posts on "Bridging the gap" and "Time to go pro." Red Moon shares a business model, contract terms, philosophy, and an overlapping staff with WWP.
Our Track Record
Eileen Wiedbrauk, Editor-in-Chief
Eileen Wiedbrauk is an editor, writer, coffee addict, cat herder, MFA graduate, fantasist-turned-fabalist-turned-urban-fantasy-junkie, Odyssey Workshop alumna, photographer, designer, tech geek, entrepreneur, avid reader, and a somewhat decent cook. She wears many hats, as the saying goes. Which is an odd saying in this case, as she rarely looks good in hats.
Laura Harvey, Assistant Editor
Laura Harvey is an editor, writer, bibliophile, horsewoman, historian, teacher, debate coach, nerd, DIY junkie, and occasional rescuer of kittens. She holds a BA, MA, and is ABD, making her an exceptional asset in Trivial Pursuit. She loves reading so much that all of her handbags share one crucial ability: fitting a standard paperback or Kindle. She lives in northern California with a menagerie of beasts (dogs, cats, horses, and family members).
Trysh Thompson, Assistant Editor
Trysh Thompson is a technical writer by day and by night, she’s a superhero who goes by the name “Mom.” In the past, she was a journalist and a movie critic for a small paper (yes, Virginia, they do still exist). For fun, she watches anything with Gordon Ramsay, writes, reads, and tries desperately to sing (alas, the tone-deaf fairy visited her early in life). A die-hard Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan, careful what you say around her in March.
Cori Vidae, Assistant Editor
From cover model to author, Cori has performed many roles in the creation of erotic titles but this is her first time wearing an editor hat for this genre. Be gentle with her. Or don’t. That can be fun too. corividae.com
Elizabeth Wagner, Publicist
Elizabeth Wagner is the publicity manager for World Weaver Press and Red Moon Romance. The daughter of two librarians, she has spent her life surrounded by books.
